The nature of your appointment will determine the length of your visit. The initial visit is usually quite extensive so be prepared to spend 1 to 3 hours at North Coast Ophthamology. If your condition requires additional testing or immediate treatment, your stay could be longer.
As we respect your time, be assured that our doctors and staff will do our best to attend to your needs within a reasonable timeframe.

What is a refraction?

Refraction is the process of determining the eye’s refractive error, or need for corrective glasses and/or contact lenses. Refraction is necessary depending on the patient’s diagnosis and/or complaints presented that day.  As you can see a refraction is an essential part of an eye exam, however, Medicare and most insurance DO NOT cover it.

Are we accepting new patients?
